How to fix memory spikes with Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB?
Whenever I pushed deep into Yellow Wind Ridge, the screen would just freeze for a fraction of a second during intense fights, making the controls feel completely unresponsive. My Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB was getting slammed, with Resource Monitor showing committed memory swinging wildly between 15.2GB - 15.8GB, forcing the system to lean on the sluggish HDD swap file. I tried killing every single background browser tab, but that only shaved off about 400MB, which felt like a joke given the stuttering. I eventually dove into Advanced System Settings and manually locked the virtual memory to a fixed range of 24576MB - 32768MB on my fastest NVMe partition. After the reboot, the memory pressure curve smoothed out from a sharp cliff to a gentle wave, and frame times dropped from a messy 22-25ms down to a consistent 14-18ms. Interestingly, setting it to 16GB first didn't fully kill the stutters in the densest areas; I had to double it to 32GB to actually tame the spikes. RAM temps stayed around 42℃ - 48℃, and the system finally stopped choking. Performance counters confirmed the page file read/write frequency plummeted, keeping frame times locked at 14-18ms.
