Why is my RT500 Digital struggling with Starfield city loads?
Whenever I hit New Atlantis, my frame rate started jumping wildly between 65 and 40 FPS, which is an absolute nightmare for any technical player. My RT500 Digital's onboard display was spiking between 88-94℃, and I could see the CPU clock speeds swinging from 4.2GHz down to 3.1GHz—classic thermal throttling. I tried toggling 'Ultimate Performance' mode in Windows, but while the fans ramped up, the core temps stayed stubbornly high; that software fix was basically useless. I ended up ripping the cooler off, applying some high-end thermal paste, and manually cranking the fan curve to 95% for the 75-85℃ range. Checking HWInfo, the cores finally settled between 72-78℃ and the stuttering vanished. To be honest, I almost had a heart attack when I realized I'd forgotten to peel off the plastic film from the cooler base on the first try, which sent temps straight to 100℃. Now, it holds steady at 70-76℃ with fans spinning at 1600-1800 RPM. After two hours of stress testing, the frequency curve is flat and the settings are locked in.
