Why is my ASUS ROG STRIX Z890-A stuttering in Fortnite?
This is just ridiculous—my frames were dropping from 300 down to 120 during simple building sequences. It made no sense. After checking the logs, I found the ASUS Z890-A Snow's default scheduling was dumping heavy compute tasks onto the E-cores while the P-cores were basically idling. I tried disabling the E-cores entirely in Windows, but that just made the whole system sluggish and caused some apps to crash—definitely not the move. I went back into the BIOS deep menus, set the core scheduling priority to 'Performance First,' and locked the minimum processor state to 100% in the Windows power plan. The frame time graph finally flattened out, with generation times staying between 3-5ms. My idle power draw went up by about 15W at first, but I fixed that by tweaking the E-core sleep states. CPU temps are now 58-65℃ and the core clocks are locked between 2500-2700MHz. I backed up the BIOS profile so I don't have to do this again.
