How to fix PCIe link instability on Colorful BATTLE-AX B450M-T?
Walking through the Shadow Realm, I kept feeling these tiny hitches in the animation—absolutely lethal during a high-stakes Boss fight. Analysis showed the PCIe link on the Colorful BATTLE-AX B450M-T M.2 V14 was intermittently downclocking, pushing GPU data latency up to 20ms - 30ms. I tried disabling all background services, but the stuttering persisted, making the effort feel pointless. I eventually flashed the latest BIOS firmware and manually forced the PCIe slot to Gen3 instead of leaving it on Auto. Using RTSS, the frame times converged from a chaotic 16.6ms - 42ms to a steady 16.6ms - 18.2ms. I almost bricked the board during the update when the power flickered, and I had to use a backup board to flash it back to factory settings before I got it right. Now the chipset temp is around 52℃ - 58℃. After a 3-hour marathon session, the drops are gone, and frame times are locked at 5.1ms - 6.4ms.
