Fixing Zotac RTX 2060 Super lag in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Quickly turning the camera in jungle scenes caused a noticeable 'hitch' in the movement, a classic issue for the 2060 series. If the Zotac RTX 2060 Super accumulates too many shader cache fragments, the GPU hits 15-30ms scheduling delays when calling new assets. I tried lowering the resolution first, but while the average FPS went up, the hitching remained—a lesson that the problem was deeper in the driver. I used DDU to wipe everything, installed the latest Studio drivers, and manually purged 4.2GB of shader cache. RivaTuner showed my 1% lows climb from 35 FPS to a stable 48-55 FPS. I did run into some compatibility issues with older software after the update, which I only fixed by reinstalling the C++ redistributables. Now the card runs at 65°C - 72°C with fans at 1400 RPM, and frame times are locked between 5.1-6.4ms.
