Tuning Gigabyte RTX 5060 Ti 16G power limits for God of War
This 5060 Ti felt like it was fighting for its life with 4K textures. In the massive scenes of Ragnarok, the frame rate was bouncing between 45 and 80 FPS, which is just pathetic. The default power limit on the Gigabyte RTX 5060 Ti 16G is way too conservative, causing the core to downclock under heavy load and creating 15-22ms of frame time jitter. I tried dropping the settings to Medium, but the game looked blurry and the stutters stayed—a complete waste of my time. I used MSI Afterburner to bump the power limit to 110% and locked the core clock at 2550MHz. The RTSS graph, which looked like a heart attack before, finally flattened out to 14-18ms. I did have a scare when temps hit 82℃ after 15 minutes, but a linear fan curve brought it under control. It now stabilizes at 74-79℃, pulling 180-210W. Fans are humming along at 1400-1600 RPM, and the data export confirms the power delivery is finally consistent.
