Optimizing NVMe Latency for Rome
Loading Expeditions: Rome felt painfully slow, breaking my flow. I assumed it was the drive, so I manually bumped the NVMe queue depth to 512 in BIOS. But the system required a restart, and the setting didn't stick, leaving me confused and frustrated. I needed a persistent solution. I switched to GamePP NVMe Configuration to manually lock the queue depth at 512, ensuring it persisted across reboots. The result was measurable. ATTO Disk Benchmark confirmed the read latency dropped from a fluctuating 80-120us to a stable 65-85us. HWiNFO showed the drive temperature remained cool at 45-50℃. Now, asset loading is instant, and the gameplay flow is smooth.
