Reducing memory latency on Colorful CVN B760M Frozen
My crosshair felt sluggish, almost 'sticky,' during fast flicks, which absolutely killed my win rate in competitive matches. The default memory latency on the Colorful CVN B760M FROZEN WIFI D5 V20 was sitting at a pathetic 82-90ns. I tried closing every single background app, but that only shaved off 2ns—a total waste of time that just left me feeling anxious. I decided to go manual in the BIOS, crushing the CL timings from 40 down to 32 and bumping the memory voltage from 1.25V to 1.35V. AIDA64 confirmed the latency dropped to 68-72ns, and the mouse suddenly felt like it was glued to my hand. I actually hit a boot loop when I tried pushing for CL 30, and I had to relax the tRCD to 36 just to get back into Windows. Now my RAM stays between 42°C - 48°C, and the heatsinks are barely warm. After a few hours of gaming, the input response is back to pro-tier levels; the tactile feedback is finally snappy.
