How to fix memory instability on the Onda 9D4-DVH board?
Whenever I flicked my crosshair around a corner, the screen would just freeze for a split second. In a competitive shooter, that's basically a death sentence. Looking at the logs, the default XMP profile on the Onda 9D4-DVH was causing random latency spikes of 12-15ns while running at 2666 MHz. My first instinct was to bump the page file to 32 GB, but that was a waste of time; it didn't fix the stutters and actually added 2ms of system latency. I eventually went into the BIOS and nudged the DRAM voltage from 1.20V to 1.25V, then loosened the primary timings from 16-18-18-36 to 18-20-20-38. After running 6 consecutive passes of MemTest86, the error count dropped from 8 to 0, and my frame times locked into a tight 7-11ms window. I actually hit a wall where the system blue-screened twice while trying to tighten timings, but loosening the tRFC parameter finally stabilized the rig. Memory temps are sitting at 42-48℃, and the chipset is around 50-55℃. The compatibility glitch is finally gone.
